Day 197 of the Gray Mist Catastrophe. All seventy-one nations have fallen. The unknown mist devours cities and transforms living creatures like a colossal beast with a will of its own. Those it corrupts become mindless Mistborn, roaming the fog to hunt anything still alive. Yet humanity endures. Survivors scattered across the world have built a handful of shelters, the largest and most tightly controlled of which is the Dome: a vast fortress built for absolute containment. Beneath it, there is only order. Everyone is either a Warden or an Anomalous, and no other shelter is dedicated exclusively to containing and controlling the latter. The Anomalous survived the catastrophe and awakened one of five primal powers, making them both humanity\'s hope and its most feared threat. Divided into five factions, each with four combat classes, they serve as the Dome\'s weapons against the Mistborn, defending its walls and the smaller shelters beyond.
【THE GRAY MIST DESCENDS】
In Year 273, vast banks of gray mist appeared without warning, initially dismissed as a rare weather phenomenon. Within days, the mist began to spread relentlessly, and the catastrophe took hold. Soil turned to sand at an alarming rate, leaving little arable land. Freshwater became contaminated, causing severe illness in anyone who drank it. Extreme weather became the norm, while frequent magnetic storms crippled global communications and disrupted power grids. Civilization ground to a halt. Within a decade, humanity lost seventy percent of its population, and survivors gathered in the few regions the mist had yet to consume entirely. In Year 285, the Declaration of Global Defense ushered in an era of defensive isolation.
【MISTCORE FORBIDDEN ZONES】
The epicenters of the mist's spread are known as Mistcore Forbidden Zones, usually located in the hearts of former major cities. Here, mist concentrations reach dozens of times those found elsewhere. Visibility falls below one meter, space twists in unnatural ways, and electronic devices fail the moment they enter. Anyone who approaches suffers severe mental contamination. Deadlier still are the Mistshades: entities formed from concentrated mist energy that attack intruders on sight. Their touch accelerates the spread of contamination within the body. The Survivor Alliance has established multiple defensive perimeters around every known zone. Unauthorized access is strictly forbidden.
【CORROSIVE MUTATION】
Corrosive Mutation is a condition caused by Gray Mist contamination. It primarily attacks the mind while unnaturally enhancing physical abilities, including strength and reaction speed. In severe cases, victims lose all human awareness. Mist energy reshapes their bodies into the Corrupted, creatures controlled by the Mistcore that turn on their own kind. Specialized medication can alleviate early- and middle-stage symptoms, but no cure exists. Once the condition reaches its final stage, termination is the only remaining option.
【ADAPTS】
Roughly one in every thousand people afflicted with Corrosive Mutation undergoes a unique transformation, becoming an Adapt. These individuals can withstand higher concentrations of Gray Mist and actively absorb and channel its energy, manipulating air currents, forming energy shields, and unleashing powerful blasts. Unlike ordinary sufferers, Adapts retain a measure of self-awareness, though they require regular specialized care to prevent further deterioration. Their abilities make them essential to humanity's fight against the catastrophe and its exploration of the Mistcore Forbidden Zones. Yet their unstable minds can also turn them into destructive forces, leaving ordinary survivors wary of them.
【THE ACE BUREAU】
The Adapt Control and Emergency Command Bureau, or ACE, is a special organization under the Survivor Alliance. It has three core duties: register and oversee Adapts worldwide, classify their threat levels, and enforce appropriate controls; supply specialized suppressants that stabilize their mist energy and prevent loss of control; and assemble Adapt combat squads for dangerous missions, including reconnaissance along the edges of Forbidden Zones, elimination of mutated creatures, and resource recovery. ACE is humanity's only official organization capable of systematically deploying Adapt powers. It answers directly to the Survivor Alliance's Core Council.
【DOME CITIES】
In Year 290, humanity discovered that a special alloy called Starfall Steel could effectively block Gray Mist infiltration, leading to the launch of Project Dome. In regions not yet entirely consumed by the mist, survivors used the alloy to build protective enclosures and establish relatively secure settlements known as Dome Cities. Each city has an independent water purification and recycling system, artificially lit farms, and energy supply stations. Dawn, a Dome City near the former equator, has attracted the largest population of survivors and Adapts thanks to its favorable location, making it the heart of humanity's efforts to rebuild civilization.
【STARCORE CRYSTALS】
Found only in the depths of the Mistcore Forbidden Zones, these mysterious pale-blue crystals are a stable, condensed form of mist energy. Starcore Crystals neutralize Gray Mist contamination, supply Dome Cities with clean energy, and serve as a key ingredient in both mutation suppressants and Starfall Steel. Mining them means venturing into the Forbidden Zones and confronting the Mistshades. After nightfall, they become the scarcest strategic resource of all.

【CLASSES】
Iron Guard (Frontline Defense · Bulwark): The backbone of melee defense, holding back the Mistborn and protecting allies. These living bulwarks embody protective power kept under strict control. They defend the Dome and help other shelters establish defensive lines.
Assault (High Damage · Strike): The primary damage dealers, delivering precise strikes against advanced Mistborn and suppressing Anomalous who lose control. Known as the Dome's Blades of Judgment, their immense combat power is matched by equally strict oversight. They lead clearance operations across multiple shelters.
Warlock (Elemental Attacks · Arcane Arts): Wielders of their faction's primal element, capable of clearing large areas and sealing Mistborn. These arcane enforcers must bear elemental curse seals imposed by the Dome to keep their powers in check. The female spellbearers of the Prologue and Deep Dive factions are the most stable, often helping other shelters cleanse small outbreaks of Violet Mist.
Support (Sustain & Buffs · Combat Assistance): Healers who restore allies and cleanse Violet Mist corruption. These battlefield redeemers sustain the front lines, ease the backlash of the Anomalous' own Mistmarks, and provide aid to smaller shelters.
